Two brothers from Rafiabad Sopore were killed after their truck plunged into a deep gorge at Battery Chasma in Ramban district on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
The accident mishap occurred late Thursday night when the truck bearing No JK04E-9110 lost control and veered off the road.
Two brothers Yasir Ahmed and Danish Ahmed, who were inside the vehicle, were killed in the accident.
Bodies of the brothers were retrieved today. The wreckage of the vehicle was also retrieved.
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
A police official said preliminary findings point towards skidding caused by the challenging terrain.
The family sources said that the siblings were the sole breadwinners of their family.
The incident has shattered their elderly parents, who have lost all the three sons in the road accidents including the two, who died today.
The sudden loss has plunged not just the family but the entire Rafiabad region into mourning, with villagers braving the winter chill rushing to their home to offer their condolences.
