J&K Sports Council held at Srinagar Sports Club Wazirbagh from 30, July, 2024 & 1st , August ,2024 . 34 selected players from various districts of UT of J& K participated in it . Mr. Maqsood Ahmad , Manager Sheri Kashmir Indoors Sports Complex was Chief Guest ,who distributed the trophies and cash prize to winners & runners and lauded the efforts of All J&K Chess Association for engaging youth in the sports. The final results were as under:- 1st position secured by Soham Komatra , 2nd position by Khalid Amin Gojwari , 3rd position by Mayank Kulkarni , 4th position by Ashutosh jamwal 5th position by Pazhany Kaushal Kohli , 6th position by Sumit Grower . The top 04 players from will represent UT of J&K in 61st NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP–2024 held at Haryana from 17th , August ,2024 to 27th August ,2024 . Over the course of the championship, the players exhibited exceptional skills, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship in a friendly yet fiercely competitive environment. The tournament saw intense matches and nail-biting moments that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. It is heartening to witness the enthusiasm and talent of young chess players from all districts of valley. Chess is not just a game; it instills discipline, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for personal and academic growth.
