
Bhadrak, , Mar 2: The landmark 30th edition of the Tillo Cup will be held from March 6 to 15 at Hanuman Jew Stadium, Tillo, Bhadrak. One of Odisha’s most established cricket tournaments, the Tillo Cup continues to provide a competitive platform for IPL players, India U-19 stars, and leading performers from the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Eight teams will compete in this edition: VTCA Nagpur, A&S Kolkata, JP Sports Noida, Lightning Legends, Nexage Hyderabad, CAG Delhi, SPJ Cargo Delhi and Nimpur Sporting Odisha. Lightning Legends, JP Sports Noida and SPJ Cargo Delhi featured last season as well but crashed out in the league stage. They will be aiming for a stronger showing in this milestone 30th edition.
The tournament has consistently attracted high-profile domestic and IPL talent. In the previous edition, Delhi Capitals’ Ashutosh Sharma and Mumbai Indians spinner Raghu Sharma, along with IPL players such as Yash Dhull, Kuldip Yadav, and Hritik Shokeen, were part of the competition. The season also featured Lucknow Super Giants spinner Digvesh Rathi, former Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper Aditya Tare, and former Punjab Kings batter Shivam Singh, highlighting the depth of talent associated with the Tillo Cup.
Tillo Cup President Lucky Swain said, “Reaching the 30th edition is a proud milestone for everyone associated with the Tillo Cup. Our objective has always been to provide a professional platform for domestic and emerging cricketers while delivering quality cricket to fans. We are committed to making this season even bigger and more competitive.”
The 2025 Tillo Cup concluded with Sapience defeating Union Sporting Club (Cuttack) by 41 runs in the final. Batting first, Sapience were bowled out for 123 in their allotted overs. Digvesh Rathi contributed 21 runs, while captain Ashish Laddu top-scored with 23. In the first innings, Subham Priyadarshi bagged a four-wicket haul to restrict the opposition effectively.
In reply, Union Sporting Club were bowled out for 82. Abhishek Khandelwal and former Rajasthan Royals pacer Kuldip Yadav picked up three wickets each to dismantle the batting lineup. Kuldip Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match for his decisive spell that sealed the title for Sapience.
Over the years, the Tillo Cup has seen several prominent names grace its field. Former India captain MS Dhoni represented Kharagpur during the early seasons of the tournament. Other notable players to have featured include Ishan Kishan, Pravin Tambe, J Suchith, Siddharth Trivedi, and Mohammad Nabi.
With a rich legacy spanning three decades, the 30th edition promises ten days of high-intensity cricket as teams battle for top honours in Bhadrak this March.
