Srinagar, Aug 8: Swim N Survival Society Kashmir (SSSK) successfully completed the First Phase of its Basic Swimming Training Course, conducted during the months of June and July 2026 at the Water Sports Center, Nigeen.

A total of 40 swimmers successfully completed the training and received Society Souvenirs and Course Certificates.
During the training programme, swimmers were provided practical training in: Basic Swimming Skills Life-Saving & Water Safety Skill Boating Recreational Kayaking Drowning Prevention & Awareness Basic Rescue Techniques
The concluding ceremony was graced by Mr. Masrat Ul Islam, Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir, as the Chief Guest, who distributed Society Souvenirs and Certificates among all 40 trained swimmers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of swimming and water sports, particularly recalling the strong swimming culture of the 1980s and earlier, when events such as the Dal Cross Open Water Swimming Race and other water sports activities were regularly organized in Kashmir.
