
Aizawl, Sep 13: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Rifles, in a swift intelligence-led joint operation with the Seling Naka Party of Aizawl DEF and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), seized 6.991 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth approximately ₹5.59 crore in Mizoram.
The operation was launched at Seling on September 11, 2026, following specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of narcotics in the area.
During the operation, the joint team intercepted two vehicles and apprehended two individuals. A subsequent search led to the recovery of the substantial consignment of methamphetamine tablets.
The seized contraband, along with the apprehended individuals, was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation and necessary legal action under the ND&PS Act.
