61 Bn CRPF Shivpora organised “BADMINTON TOURNAMENT” with the help of Passionate Sports Academy Habbakadal on Thursday under the guidance of Sh. Mathew A. John ,DIG South Srinagar. On the occasion Ravinder Sharma, Second-In-Command (Adm) and other officers were also present. 23 players from different schools of Srinagar i.e G.H.H.S.S Batmaloo, K.G.P Gogji Bagh, Women College, M.A Road, Amar Singh College, GogjiBagh, Gandhi College, FatehKadal, S.P Model Higher Secondary School, M.A Road, Vasanta High School, NaiSarak, Degree College, TralPulwama participated in the event.
Singles in Girls segment was won by Misba Amir of Women College, M.A. Road, and Iqra Shakeel was runners up from Amar Singh College Gogji Bagh. Singles in boys segment was won by Salim Gogi of degree College, Tral, Pulwama and Hanaf was runner up from KGP College GogjiBagh. Doubles in boys segment was won by TufailNazir, Amar Singh College GogjiBagh&Hanaf of K.G.P College, Gogji Baghand, runners up were Sibtain Waseem of Vasanta High School, Nai Sarak and salim Gogi Degree College Tral, Pulwama.
Senior members of Intezamia Committee JanabWasim Ahmad Baba of Masjid Hanfia Rose Colony Shivporawas present and distributed prizes to the winning participants. He was full of gratitude for kind initiative which gives local Youth a chance to groom their talent & which brings youth closer to forces. On the occasion winners & runners up were given trophies along with track suits and Certificates. All participants were given certificate of participation and some gifts to boost their morale and were motivated to continue their efforts in their games so that they can participate at Nationals & Internationals levels.
