7 Karnah students crack NEET

July 21, 2026 | BK News Service

Kupwara, July 20: The remote border sub-division of Karnah has once again showcased its academic excellence, with seven students qualifying the NEET-UG 2026 examination, reaffirming that determination and hard work can overcome geographical and infrastructural challenges.

Leading the achievers is Shakiya Mansoor, daughter of Mansoor Ahmad, who secured an impressive 674 marks, emerging as the highest scorer from Karnah. Her outstanding performance has earned widespread appreciation and has become a source of inspiration for students across the region.
The success of these students is particularly significant as Karnah, a far-flung border area, continues to face limited access to quality educational infrastructure, coaching facilities and academic resources. Their achievement reflects their perseverance, discipline and the unwavering support of their parents and teachers.
Congratulating the successful candidates, former MLA Raja Manzoor Khan and Advocate Mohammad Shafi praised the students for bringing laurels to Karnah. They also encouraged those who could not qualify this year to remain determined and continue striving towards their goals.
They said the success of these young achievers has brought pride not only to their families and educational institutions but to the entire Karnah Valley, proving that talent from border areas can compete with the best in the country.
The leaders urged the government to strengthen educational infrastructure in border regions by establishing modern coaching centres, upgrading academic facilities and providing better career guidance to help students realise their full potential.
Expressing confidence in the successful candidates, they said the young achievers would go on to serve society as dedicated doctors and inspire future generations from Karnah
