75 Battalion Srinagar carried out a cleanliness drive at Zeashta Devi temple premises today.
Organised under the overall supervision of Shri K K Pandey Commandant, 75 Battalion, the campaign aimed at inspiring voluntary 'shram daan' activities so as to foster a sense of collective responsibility for cleanliness among the citizens.
More than 100 jawans and officers of the Battalion along with voluntary workers from civil organisation participated enthusiastically in the noble cause, being carried out under "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign.
As a run up to Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2nd October, 2023, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight is being organised from 15th September to 2nd October, 2023 to celebrate 9 years of Swachh Bharat Mission. The theme for SHS 2023 is “Garbage Free India”.
The dedication and commitment of jawans in the cleanliness drive was appreciated whole heartedly by the temple staff, pilgrims and civil volunteers as the premises of temple being located in the mid contours of mountains was a natural invitee to unwanted shurbs, weeds and stockpile of dried leaves.
An hour long cleanliness drive of tireless efforts not only reinstated the natural glow and serenic beauty of the premises landscape but also promoted a sense of cleanliness, hygiene and sustainability towards environment in the fellow citizen, in consonance with the principal of "Swachhata Hi Seva".
75 Battalion is not only devoted to serve the nation with valor and grit but also committed to fulfill its social obligations and role towards environment with dedication and conviction.
