
In order to ensure the bright future for every child, Mission Vatsalya (erstwhile Child Protection Services) Baramulla launched camping against child labour, child begging and to identify the children in street situation (CISS) on Saturday 27 May 2023.
The Drive was Conducted on the directions of District Child Protection Officer Baramulla Mr. Nisaar Ahmed Wani. The team headed by Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Baramulla Mr. Waseem Hassan Parrray including Labour Officer Mr. Javeed Ahmed, Members of Childline, Members of Child Welfare Committee and other officials of Mission Vatsalya Baramulla.
Prima Facia 18 children were identified on different Hotspots including Mechanical Workshops, Bus Stands, Hotels, Bakery Shops and Restaurants.
The owners of the establishments were directed to produce identified children before Child Welfare Committee Baramulla within a period of three days for further necessary process by the Committee.
An Awareness Session about the functioning of Mission Vatsalya was also conducted among Mechanical Workshop owners, Transporters, drivers and Hoteliers during the Campaign.
It's pertinent to mention that, the Child Welfare Committee is a statutory body under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and deals with the children who are in need of Care and Protection.
