
Srinagar, June 18: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting at the DC Office Complex to review preparations for the NEET-2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21.
Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy also attended the meeting, along with senior district officials, representatives of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and other stakeholders.
The meeting focused on ensuring smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the examination across all designated centres in Srinagar. Detailed discussions were held on deployment of examination staff, including centre superintendents and invigilators, secure handling and transportation of question papers, and conduct of mock drills.
Officials also reviewed arrangements related to infrastructure, including uninterrupted power and water supply, seating arrangements, sanitation, medical support, and transportation facilities for candidates and staff.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed strict adherence to NTA guidelines and standard operating procedures, directing all departments to work in close coordination to ensure a hassle-free examination environment for candidates.
He also ordered the establishment of a Joint Control Room for real-time monitoring through CCTV feeds from all centres and instructed agencies to strengthen surveillance systems to maintain exam integrity.
SSP Srinagar reviewed security arrangements and called for a comprehensive security deployment plan to prevent malpractice and ensure peaceful conduct of the examination.
Traffic management, emergency response mechanisms, and law-and-order arrangements around examination centres were also reviewed during the meeting to ensure smooth movement and avoid inconvenience to candidates.
