
Kohima, May 3: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps has commenced a two-week Pre-Recruitment Training programme at Jalukie in Peren district, Nagaland, aimed at preparing local youth for Agniveer recruitment in the armed forces.
A total of 33 candidates are participating in the training, which focuses on both written examination preparation and physical fitness standards required for military recruitment. The programme is designed to improve the candidates’ overall readiness and enhance their chances of selection.
The training includes guidance on exam-oriented subjects, physical endurance drills, running practice, and other fitness-related activities aligned with recruitment benchmarks. Emphasis is also being placed on discipline, time management, and confidence-building among participants.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to empower youth from remote and rural areas by providing them structured support for joining the armed forces and serving the nation.
The programme reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to youth development and capacity building in Nagaland, with a focus on creating greater awareness and opportunities in defence services.
