Srinagar, Oct 19: Agriculture Department Kashmir today commenced the first phase of onion seedling sale at Kitchen Garden, Lal Mandi, Srinagar, aimed at facilitating farmers with quality planting material for onion cultivation.

The initiative is part of the department’s continued efforts to promote vegetable cultivation, strengthen local agricultural production and encourage farmers to adopt improved cultivation practices for enhanced productivity and better returns.
The availability of quality onion seedlings at the department’s designated sale centre is expected to facilitate timely transplantation and support farmers in planning their cultivation activities for the season.
The Department of Agriculture Kashmir reiterated its commitment to extending necessary support to the farming community through the timely availability of quality inputs, technical guidance and farmer-friendly initiatives to strengthen the agricultural sector in the Kashmir Valley.
