
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah on Wednesday review implementation of key agriculture schemes HADP, CAPEX and CSS in district Budgam.
During a review meeting held at the Agriculture Complex Lalmandi Srinagar, the Director sought detailed updates on applications received, processed and sanctioned under the Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project and ongoing initiatives under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
Officials were asked to account for achievements recorded so far, including progress initiatives and support to agricultural entrepreneurs. He impressed upon concerned officers to speed up the implementation, expenditure under different schemes and flagship programs so that the set targets could be achieved.
Officials were instructed to avoid procedural delays and ensure applications move faster from scrutiny to sanction.
The Director stressed the need for better coordination between department, farming community and financial institutions to ensure schemes translate into real support for farmers.
The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, District Agriculture Officer, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officers and other officers of the department.
