Srinagar, Jan 16: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday said that all departments are fully prepared for the forthcoming Budget Session, expressing satisfaction over the arrangements put in place to ensure its smooth conduct.

Talking to reporters after chairing a high-level meeting at the Jammu Civil Secretariat, the Speaker said the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly will commence on February 2, 2026. He said the meeting was convened to review security arrangements and departmental preparedness ahead of the session.
Rather said senior officers from various departments participated in the meeting and briefed him about the inspections carried out and the measures taken to address all requirements related to the session.
“The motive of today’s meeting was to review preparations, and I am satisfied that all departments are ready and will perform their duties efficiently during the Budget Session,” the Speaker told reporters.
He said discussions were held on coordination among departments, deployment of staff, logistical arrangements and security measures to ensure that the proceedings are conducted in an orderly and smooth manner.
The Speaker stressed that effective coordination and timely execution of responsibilities by all concerned departments is essential for the successful conduct of the Budget Session, adding that necessary directions have already been issued.
