
PULWAMA, APRIL 27: Department of Youth Services and Sports Pulwama today conducted a wide range of sports and awareness activities across the district as part of the ongoing 100-day campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
The initiative aims to actively engage youth and students in constructive and meaningful pursuits, while promoting awareness against drug abuse and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
The activities were organised across all eight educational zones under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs). A variety of programmes were held, including football matches and pledge ceremonies in Zone Tahab; anti-drug rallies, baseball and table tennis competitions in Zone Pulwama; carrom, races and softball competitions in Zone Pampore; and essay writing competitions in Zone Tral. Additionally, road races were conducted in Zone Kakapora, while painting competitions and anti-drug awareness programmes were organised in Zones Tral, Awantipora and Shadimarg.
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing several institutions across the respective zones. Through these activities, the department aims to spread mass awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and promote a sense of responsibility among youth towards building a drug-free society.
