Kohima, Oct 8: The Assam Rifles organised a Cancer Awareness Outreach Programme at the Government School in Phelungre Village, Kiphire District, Nagaland. The initiative was designed to educate students about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with students, explaining the risks associated with cancer and ways to reduce them through proper diet, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful habits such as tobacco consumption. Educational materials and visual aids were used to make the session engaging and informative, helping students understand the importance of early diagnosis in effective cancer treatment.

This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, particularly in remote areas. By promoting health education and preventive measures, the programme aims to empower young minds with knowledge that can help combat cancer and build a healthier future for the region.
