Imphal, Mar 15: As part of its ongoing community welfare initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, Assam Rifles personnel from Spear Corps organized medical and health camps in Lamsang, Imphal East District, Manipur, and Matikhru, Meluri District, Nagaland.
The camps aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to remote communities, focusing on preventive care, routine check-ups, and awareness about hygiene and nutrition. Medical teams screened villagers for common ailments, conducted blood pressure and sugar level checks, and offered free medicines to patients in need.
In Matikhru village, Nagaland, the initiative also included the distribution of solar-powered lights to households, enhancing access to sustainable energy in areas with limited electricity infrastructure. This step not only improves daily living conditions but also supports education and safety in the community after sunset.
Officials highlighted that such measures under Operation Sadbhavana are part of Assam Rifles’ commitment to building trust, improving quality of life, and promoting goodwill among local populations in border and remote regions. Villagers expressed gratitude, noting that these programs significantly help communities that have limited access to healthcare facilities and reliable electricity.
The Assam Rifles emphasized that these efforts complement government schemes and reflect a holistic approach toward security, development, and community engagement, reinforcing ties between the armed forces and local populations in the Northeast.
