Agartala/Imphal, Sep 19: The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, conducted a series of youth empowerment initiatives for NCC cadets in Tripura and Manipur, focusing on discipline, leadership, personality development and awareness about careers in the Armed Forces.

At Saheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel, Agartala, the Assam Rifles organised a Weapon and Equipment Display for NCC cadets. The initiative provided the young participants an opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the equipment and operational capabilities of the force.
The interaction was aimed at enhancing the cadets’ understanding of the role of the Armed Forces and motivating them to consider defence services as a career option. The display also provided an interactive platform for the cadets to learn about the equipment used by personnel in carrying out operational and security duties.
In Manipur, the Assam Rifles facilitated the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at New Keithalmanbi Garrison. The camp concluded after 10 days of intensive training designed to develop discipline, leadership qualities, confidence and a sense of responsibility among the participating NCC cadets.
The training programme covered key aspects including weapon firing, tactical fieldcraft, map reading and personality development. The structured activities were aimed at providing cadets with practical exposure while strengthening teamwork, physical endurance and decision-making abilities.
The interaction with Assam Rifles personnel also enabled the cadets to understand the importance of discipline, dedication and leadership in both military and civilian life.
The initiatives are part of the Assam Rifles’ continuing efforts to engage with youth and provide them with meaningful exposure, skills and opportunities. Through such programmes, the force seeks to encourage young people to develop leadership abilities, contribute positively to society and understand the responsibilities associated with national service.
The programmes in Tripura and Manipur brought together military exposure and youth development, giving NCC cadets an opportunity to learn beyond conventional classroom training while fostering confidence, discipline and national pride.
