
Kohima, Oct 9: Assam Rifles organised a Road Show in Kohima on 09 October 2025 as part of the promotional activities for the upcoming 9th Capt N Kengurüse, MVC, Memorial Football Tournament.
The event aimed to create enthusiasm, awareness and public engagement for the forthcoming football tournament, which stands as a befitting tribute to Capt N Kengurüse, MVC(P), an icon of bravery and pride of Nagaland. Through this initiative, Assam Rifles sought to inspire the youth to participate in sports and uphold the ideals of courage, discipline and teamwork exemplified by the gallant officer.
The Road Show commenced from Lerie Junction and traversed through BOC Junction, Phoolbari Junction, Old NST Station, Tinpati Junction and culminated at High School Junction, Kohima. The Road Show witnessed vibrant participation, featuring colourful banners, music and interaction with the local populace. It drew significant attention from residents, commuters and particularly the youth, who turned up in large numbers to witness the lively procession.
The event generated tremendous interest among the youth of Kohima, who expressed their excitement and anticipation for the tournament.
