
Imphal, July 15: Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised a security coordination meeting at Tamei in Manipur's Tamenglong district to strengthen civil-military cooperation and enhance coordination among various stakeholders for maintaining peace and security in the region.
The meeting brought together representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), village authorities, Tamei Police, the Forest Department and senior Assam Rifles officials. The interaction focused on addressing local security concerns, promoting communal harmony and fostering greater cooperation between security forces and the local administration.
During the meeting, participants discussed the prevailing security situation, the importance of timely information sharing and the need for coordinated efforts to prevent anti-social and unlawful activities. Emphasis was also laid on strengthening trust between the security forces and local communities to ensure a peaceful environment conducive to development.
Assam Rifles officials reiterated their commitment to working closely with civil authorities and community leaders to address local issues through dialogue, mutual understanding and collaborative action.
The gathering also highlighted the importance of public participation in maintaining law and order, protecting natural resources and promoting social harmony across the district.
