Imphal, Sep 15: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised ex-servicemen welfare drives and medical camps in Manipur and Nagaland, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and well-being of veterans, Veer Naris and their families.

In Manipur’s Senapati district, a special interaction with ex-servicemen was organised to address the concerns of veterans, Veer Naris and their family members. The programme provided assistance in grievance redressal and administrative matters, besides facilitating access to medical care.
The initiative provided veterans and their families an opportunity to raise issues concerning various welfare and administrative requirements and seek guidance from the concerned authorities. Medical support was also extended to participants as part of the welfare outreach.
Meanwhile, at Noklak in Nagaland, Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp along with an ex-servicemen meet for local veterans and their family members. The camp offered health check-ups, medical consultations and free medicines to beneficiaries.
The programmes were aimed at ensuring that former servicemen and their families continue to receive support and access to essential healthcare and welfare services even after their years of active service.
Assam Rifles said such initiatives reflect its continued commitment to maintaining a strong connect with veterans and their families and recognising their contribution and service to the nation.
The welfare activities also provided a platform for direct interaction with veterans, helping authorities better understand their concerns and facilitate timely assistance wherever required.
