AR hosts cultural event for Nagaland students

Kohima, Feb 24: In a unique initiative to engage with the local community, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organized the event “A Day with Company Commander” on February 23, 2026, for students from Nagaland College of Music and Fine Arts, Baptist Mission School, Jotsoma, St. Andrew School, Jotsoma, and Government High School, Jotsoma.

The event aimed to foster interaction between the armed forces and young students, providing an opportunity to showcase local culture and strengthen community ties. Students performed traditional and local songs, highlighting the rich musical heritage of Nagaland. Their performances were met with enthusiastic applause from the participating troops and organizers.
As part of the programme, Assam Rifles personnel distributed sweets and refreshments, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees. The event was designed to promote cultural understanding, build camaraderie, and encourage positive engagement between the forces and local youth.
Officers of the Assam Rifles expressed their appreciation for the students’ talents and emphasized the importance of nurturing creativity and cultural values alongside education.
