Dimapur, Sep 15: In a thoughtful initiative aimed at promoting holistic development, the Assam Rifles organised a special excursion for students of the Subedar P B Chhetri, Kirti Chakra, Centre of Excellence and Wellness, NIEDO on 15 September 2025. The day-long trip took place at Green Park, 4th Mile, Dimapur, offering the students a well-deserved break from their intense academic schedules.
The students—aspiring candidates preparing for NEET and JEE at the NIEDO Centre located in Medziphema Garrison—were treated to a refreshing day amidst nature. Activities like boating, zip-lining, and other outdoor games brought energy and enthusiasm, allowing the young achievers to unwind and rejuvenate.
The NIEDO (National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation) Centre, supported by Assam Rifles, offers free one-year residential coaching to academically deserving but underprivileged students from the Northeast. The program not only focuses on academic excellence but also on the mental and emotional well-being of students, making such excursions an integral part of their overall grooming.
An Assam Rifles official noted, “We believe that well-rounded development is crucial for these future leaders. Beyond books and exams, they deserve moments of joy, bonding, and mental refreshment.”
The outing was met with overwhelming appreciation from the students, many of whom shared that the experience helped them feel recharged and motivated for the academic challenges ahead.
The initiative is yet another example of Assam Rifles' commitment to nation-building, especially in the Northeast, by nurturing the youth with opportunities, care, and guidance beyond the classroom.
