Kishtwar, June 26: Assam Rifles organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Kishtwar to pay homage to Rifleman (Late) Daya Sagar Arya of 7 Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on June 25, 1990, while the unit was deployed in Jammu & Kashmir.

The ceremony was conducted with full military honours, reflecting deep respect and remembrance for the fallen soldier whose sacrifice remains etched in the history and legacy of the force.
Senior officers, personnel of Assam Rifles, and other ranks participated in the ceremony, laying wreaths and observing a moment of solemn remembrance to honour the courage and dedication of the braveheart.
Officials stated that Rifleman Arya’s sacrifice continues to inspire generations of Assam Rifles personnel, reinforcing the values of duty, honour, and selfless service to the nation.
During the ceremony, the force reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the traditions and ethos of valour set by its martyrs, and to continue serving the nation with unwavering resolve in challenging operational environments.
The event concluded with a collective salute to the martyr, acknowledging his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and expressing solidarity with his family.
