In a continued effort to foster stronger civil-military cooperation and enhance security in border areas, the Assam Rifles organized a Security Coordination Meeting with the Nokhu Village Council in Nagaland, followed by a Medical Camp for the local population.
The Security Coordination Meet, held with the active participation of village elders, youth leaders, and representatives of the Nokhu Village Council, focused on boosting border vigilance, strengthening intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and encouraging community participation in maintaining peace and order in the region. Assam Rifles officers emphasized the importance of mutual trust and cooperation in curbing cross-border threats and ensuring the safety of remote and strategically significant areas.
Following the meeting, the Assam Rifles organized a Medical Camp, benefiting 85 villagers, including women, children, and the elderly. The camp provided free medical consultations, essential medicines, and awareness on preventive healthcare practices. A team of medical officers and paramedics attended to the villagers’ health concerns, offering advice on nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
The initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response from the locals, who appreciated the dual focus on security and community welfare. Events like these not only ensure improved coordination in security matters but also reflect the Assam Rifles' commitment to the well-being of the border communities.
Through such engagements, Assam Rifles continues to serve as the “Sentinels of the Northeast”, bridging gaps between the armed forces and the civilian population, and laying the foundation for a secure and harmonious environment in the region.
