May 11, 2026 | BK News Service

Imphal , May 10: The inspiring journey of Ningthoujam Ranjit Singh from Heirok in Manipur highlights the impact of Assam Rifles’ youth empowerment and skill development initiatives aimed at transforming lives in the North East.

Ranjit Singh, who was earlier working as a labourer in a brick factory, saw a turning point in his life in May 2024 when he enrolled in the Homeland Security 1st Batch programme, an Assam Rifles-led youth empowerment initiative.
The programme focused on equipping participants with essential life and employability skills, including discipline, communication abilities, personality development, and job-oriented training. Through structured mentorship and consistent training, Ranjit gradually developed confidence and professional competence.
Officials noted that his transformation was driven by dedication and guidance provided under the initiative, which aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for youth from economically weaker backgrounds across the region.
Following successful completion of the programme, Ranjit Singh secured employment as a Senior Supervisor at British Petroleum in Pune, marking a significant milestone in his personal and professional journey.
Assam Rifles stated that such success stories reflect the broader objective of its community outreach programmes, which focus on empowering youth, reducing unemployment vulnerability, and fostering long-term socio-economic upliftment in the North East.
The force reaffirmed its commitment to continuing skill development and employment-linked initiatives that help channel youth potential into productive and stable career paths.
