Imphal/Kohima, Sep 16: Reaffirming their commitment to community welfare, formations of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted a series of healthcare outreach programmes across Manipur and Nagaland, providing medical assistance, essential medicines and emergency response training to local communities.

Medical camps were organised in Ukhrul and Tamenglong districts of Manipur, where villagers and students received health screenings and consultations. Essential medicines were also distributed to those requiring treatment.
As part of the outreach, medical personnel conducted practical sessions on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency first aid. The training was aimed at equipping students and villagers with basic life-saving skills and enabling them to respond effectively during medical emergencies before professional assistance arrives.
A separate medical outreach programme was conducted in Phek district of Nagaland, providing accessible healthcare services to villagers in the area. The initiative focused on addressing basic health requirements and creating greater awareness about preventive healthcare.
In a further gesture of humanitarian service, troops also donated blood for a critically anaemic patient in Phek. The contribution provided timely support to the patient while highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation in emergency and critical-care situations.
The healthcare initiatives are part of the continued community outreach efforts by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in the region. Such programmes provide medical support to people in remote areas while promoting health awareness and strengthening interaction between security forces and local communities.
Through medical assistance, emergency-response training and acts of humanitarian support, the initiatives seek to contribute to community well-being and reinforce the bond between the security forces and the people.
