Imphal, Oct 11: Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, healthcare and youth empowerment, formations under the Spear Corps conducted a series of outreach initiatives under Operation Sadbhavana and Civic Action Programmes across Manipur and Mizoram.

The initiatives focused on extending healthcare services to underserved communities, supporting vulnerable sections of society and encouraging youth participation in sports, while strengthening the bond between the security forces and local populations.
In Manipur, medical and wellness camps were organised in Bishnupur and Imphal East districts, providing free specialist consultations, medicines and medical aids to beneficiaries. The camps aimed to improve access to essential healthcare services, particularly for people who face difficulties in obtaining specialised medical attention.
As part of its humanitarian outreach, Army personnel interacted with inmates and representatives of the Child Care Ministry Orphanage in Senapati and distributed essential rations. The initiative sought to support the institution in meeting the basic needs of children under its care while extending reassurance and assistance to vulnerable members of society.
In Thoubal district, necessary items were provided to the Meira Paibi Lup to strengthen community infrastructure and support its activities. The assistance reflected the forces’ efforts to work alongside local organisations and contribute to community-level welfare initiatives.
In Mizoram, sports equipment was distributed among youth in Zokhawthar and Melbuk villages of Champhai district. The initiative was aimed at encouraging sporting activities, promoting physical fitness and providing young people with opportunities to develop teamwork, discipline and leadership skills.
The outreach programmes highlight the multifaceted role played by formations under the Spear Corps in supporting communities beyond their operational responsibilities. Through healthcare assistance, humanitarian support and youth-oriented activities, the forces continue to contribute to local development and social well-being.
Operation Sadbhavana and Civic Action Programmes remain important platforms for community engagement, helping address local needs and foster mutual trust between the security forces and residents of the northeastern region.
