Imphal, Nov 4: The Indian Army, under Operation Sadbhavana, has undertaken educational and sports infrastructure initiatives in Manipur to promote digital literacy, encourage youth participation and strengthen community welfare.
Formations under the Spear Corps distributed information technology (IT) assets at Tazei Public Higher Secondary School in Noney district and the Makhan Khuman Youth and Student Organisation in Senapati district.
The initiative aims to improve access to digital resources, strengthen learning opportunities and equip students and young people with skills needed to navigate an increasingly technology-driven world.
In another initiative at Chalou Lamlai in Imphal East district, the Army installed floodlights at the village football ground to facilitate sporting activities beyond daylight hours. A dedicated room was also constructed for the Chalou Youth Union Club to provide a space for youth engagement and community activities.
The infrastructure upgrades are aimed at encouraging sports, promoting teamwork and providing young people with better opportunities for recreation and collective participation.
Through these interventions, the Army is seeking to contribute to grassroots development while strengthening its engagement with local communities. Operation Sadbhavana continues to focus on education, sports, skill development and essential infrastructure, particularly in areas where such support can create meaningful opportunities.
The initiatives reflect the Army's broader commitment to youth empowerment, community welfare and the promotion of trust and cooperation between the armed forces and the people of Manipur.
