Anini, Feb 2: Arunachal Pradesh, Feb 1: The Indian Army’s Dao Division under Spear Corps has constructed a 100-meter stadium shed at the Central Stadium in Anini, strengthening sports infrastructure in the remote frontier region.

The facility was formally handed over to the local community on February 1, 2026, and inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu during the vibrant Reh Festival, a key cultural celebration in the area. The stadium shed will provide shelter for athletes, spectators, and community events, enabling year-round sports and recreational activities.
Officials from Spear Corps highlighted that the initiative reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to supporting community development alongside its primary security duties in the region. The project aims to promote sports, nurture local talent, and encourage youth participation in physical activities.
The inauguration coincided with the Reh Festival, symbolizing the shared aspirations and close bond between the Indian Army and the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
