Srinagar, Sep 25: Army chief General Dhiraj Seth on Friday visited forward areas and formations of the Chinar Corps under Northern Command to review operational preparedness and the prevailing security situation along the Line of Control and in the hinterland.
During the visit, General Seth was briefed by commanders on the prevailing security environment, operational readiness of formations and measures being undertaken to strengthen the security grid across the region.
The Army Chief reviewed the preparedness of troops deployed in forward areas along the Line of Control and took stock of the security situation in the hinterland.
He was also briefed on ongoing efforts to enhance operational capabilities and respond effectively to emerging security challenges.
General Seth during his interaction with troops deployed in operational areas commended them for their vigilance, professionalism and commitment while performing duties in challenging conditions.
The Army Chief stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of operational readiness and strengthening technological capabilities to meet evolving security requirements.
The visit also focused on capability development and measures aimed at making the force more prepared to operate across a changing operational environment.
General Seth's visit comes as security forces continue to maintain heightened preparedness along the Line of Control and in the hinterland of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army leadership has continued to undertake visits to forward areas and operational formations to assess ground-level preparedness, review security arrangements and interact with personnel deployed in sensitive areas.
