Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, visited North Kashmir to assess the operational preparedness of troops and review ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Rafiabad–Sopore sector.During the visit, the Army Commander interacted with formation and unit commanders deployed in the area and took a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation. He lauded the troops for their high standards of professionalism, alertness and operational efficiency, and emphasized the need to maintain a proactive posture to effectively counter emerging security challenges.At the Joint Control Centre, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma held detailed discussions with representatives of various security and intelligence agencies. He stressed upon the importance of strengthened inter-agency coordination, rapid intelligence sharing, effective intelligence fusion and a synergised response mechanism to deal with evolving threats in a timely and decisive manner. The visit underscored the Northern Command’s steadfast commitment to maintaining peace, stability and security in the region through robust operational preparedness and close cooperation among all stakeholders.
