15 January 1949. This momentous occasion stands as a tribute to the valour, sacrifice, discipline and unflinching professionalism of the men and women of the Indian Army, who remain steadfast in safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation.
Army Day serves as a solemn reminder of Indian Army’s enduring legacy and its unwavering commitment to the Nation under the revered motto, “Service Before Self”. Army Day celebrations were held at Srinagar, Sharifabad, Uri and Tangdhar. Wreath laying ceremonies were attended by senior Military Officials. Ex-servicemen (ESMs) were also felicitated in recognition of their invaluable contribution and lifelong service to the Nation.
