
Imphal, , Feb 27: The Spearhead Division and Red Shield Division of the Indian Army carried out medical outreach camps in remote regions of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, combining healthcare delivery with community engagement under national welfare initiatives.
In Arunachal Pradesh, camps were organized at Dett Huri and Damin as part of the Vibrant Villages Programme, which aims to strengthen border communities through development and improved quality of life. Simultaneously, in Kadangband, Imphal West, Manipur, the outreach was conducted under Operation Sadbhavana, the Army’s initiative for fostering goodwill and socio-economic development in conflict-affected and remote areas.
The camps provided free medical consultations, basic health check-ups, and distribution of medicines to local residents. Doctors and paramedical teams also conducted awareness sessions on hygiene, preventive healthcare, and nutrition, emphasizing the importance of early detection and management of common ailments.
In addition to healthcare services, the Army engaged with the communities to address concerns, answer queries, and offer guidance on accessing government health schemes.
