Ziro, Sep 25: An Indian Army formation under the Spear Corps established a ‘Know Your Army’ corner at the Ziro Festival of Music in Arunachal Pradesh, providing visitors an opportunity to interact with soldiers and gain insights into the Army’s role, equipment and service to the nation.

The initiative showcased a range of military weapons, uniforms and equipment, along with displays highlighting the Army’s operational contributions and various activities undertaken in support of communities and national development.
The interactive exhibition offered visitors, particularly young people, an up-close glimpse into military life and the responsibilities of the armed forces. The initiative also sought to strengthen awareness and understanding of the Army among citizens while highlighting the enduring association between the security forces and the people of the region.
Adding to the outreach, Sainik School, NCC and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) participated in the event and showcased their respective initiatives. Displays highlighted educational opportunities, youth empowerment programmes and infrastructure and developmental projects undertaken in challenging terrain.
A dedicated Traditional Corner was also set up to celebrate Arunachal Pradesh’s rich tribal heritage and cultural diversity. The display highlighted the Army’s appreciation for local traditions and customs, reinforcing the importance of preserving the region’s distinctive cultural identity.
The participation of multiple organisations provided visitors with a broader understanding of their contributions to education, youth development, connectivity, national service and community welfare.
The ‘Know Your Army’ initiative at the festival reflected the continued efforts of the Indian Army to engage with local communities through interactive outreach programmes. It also reinforced the message of mutual trust, respect and partnership between the security forces and the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
