Kibithu , July 6: Reinforcing its commitment to the welfare of border communities, the Indian Army organised a comprehensive Medical and Dental Camp at Kibithu, one of India's easternmost frontier villages in Arunachal Pradesh.
The humanitarian initiative was conducted by the Dao Division under Spear Corps to provide essential healthcare services to residents living in the remote border region, where access to specialised medical facilities remains limited.
During the camp, a total of 51 villagers, including women and children, received free medical consultations, dental examinations and basic treatment from Army doctors and healthcare professionals. The medical team also distributed essential medicines and offered guidance on preventive healthcare and personal hygiene.
Special emphasis was laid on creating awareness about oral hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, seasonal diseases and the importance of timely medical check-ups. Residents were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle practices and seek early treatment for common ailments.
The villagers appreciated the Army's outreach programme, stating that such initiatives provide much-needed healthcare support to people residing in far-flung border areas where medical infrastructure is often limited.
Officials said the camp forms part of the Indian Army's ongoing civic action programmes aimed at improving the quality of life in remote frontier regions while strengthening trust and cooperation between the Army and local communities.
The Indian Army reiterated that, apart from safeguarding the nation's borders, it remains committed to the welfare, well-being and socio-economic development of people living in remote border areas through regular medical camps, educational outreach, infrastructure support and community engagement programmes.
