Dimapur, June 25: In a bid to empower youth and foster a sense of national pride, formations of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted immersive outreach programmes in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
As part of Project Navbharat, the Spearhead Division organised a “Know Your Army” event at Sigar Military Station in Arunachal Pradesh. The programme was attended by students and NCC cadets from Don Bosco School, who were given first-hand exposure to various aspects of military life.
The event featured live demonstrations including weapon displays, drone showcases and a battle obstacle course designed to introduce participants to the training standards, discipline and operational capabilities of the Indian Army. Officials said the initiative aimed to inspire youth and strengthen their connection with the armed forces.
In a parallel engagement, Assam Rifles conducted a weapon display programme at Mantripukhri Garrison in Imphal, Manipur. The session was attended by around 380 cadets from Girls NCC battalions, who were introduced to a range of military equipment and defence systems used by the force.
The cadets were briefed on the role of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and security in the region, along with its operational responsibilities along the Indo-Myanmar border. The interactive session also encouraged questions and discussions, helping participants gain deeper insight into defence services.
Officials said such outreach initiatives are part of a broader effort to connect with the youth of the Northeast, promote awareness about the armed forces and encourage participation in nation-building activities.
