Noklak July 6: Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps organised an Ex-Servicemen Interaction and Medical Camp at Noklak in Nagaland, providing a range of healthcare and welfare services to former soldiers and Veer Naris.
The outreach programme witnessed the participation of ex-servicemen, war widows and their family members, who availed themselves of medical consultations, health check-ups and various welfare-related services under one roof.
A team of Army medical professionals conducted comprehensive health examinations and offered advice on preventive healthcare, treatment of common ailments and lifestyle management. Essential medicines were also provided to beneficiaries during the camp.
In addition to healthcare services, dedicated assistance counters were established to facilitate banking-related services, grievance redressal, and CSD Smart Card registration and renewal. Officials also guided veterans on pension-related matters, documentation, welfare schemes and other entitlements available to ex-servicemen and Veer Naris.
Army officials interacted with the veterans to understand their concerns and assured them of continued support in addressing issues related to welfare and rehabilitation.
The participants appreciated the initiative, stating that such programmes help bridge the gap between veterans and service authorities while ensuring that welfare benefits reach deserving beneficiaries, particularly in remote regions.
Officials said the camp reflects the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to honouring the service and sacrifices of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris by ensuring their continued well-being through regular outreach programmes, healthcare initiatives and welfare assistance.
