December 31, 2025 | BK News Service

Arunachal Pradesh, Dec 30: Under the Indian Army’s OperationSadbhavna, Spear Corps has constructed a modern double-storey homestay in the remote border village of Taksing, located in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The homestay was officially dedicated to the local community under the Vibrant Village Programme, aiming to promote community welfare, sustainable livelihoods, and border tourism in the strategically important region.

The newly constructed homestay is designed to accommodate tourists and visitors, providing basic modern amenities while preserving the cultural and environmental integrity of the village. The facility is expected to create additional income opportunities for local families by encouraging homestay-based tourism, enabling them to showcase their traditions, handicrafts, and cuisine to visitors.
The initiative also reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to community development and engagement in border areas, where access to infrastructure and economic opportunities is limited. By fostering sustainable tourism, the project aims to strengthen the socio-economic fabric of Taksing while building stronger ties between the armed forces and local residents.
During the dedication ceremony, senior officers of Spear Corps highlighted the significance of such initiatives in promoting development in remote villages, improving livelihoods, and enhancing the quality of life for border communities. Local villagers expressed their appreciation, acknowledging the homestay as a valuable addition that would help attract tourists, generate employment, and provide a platform to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.
The project is part of the broader Vibrant Village Programme under Operation Sadbhavna, which focuses on comprehensive development, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and livelihood initiatives, in border areas. Through such efforts, the Indian Army continues to strengthen border security not only by safeguarding territory but also by empowering communities and promoting sustainable growth.
This homestay in Taksing is expected to become a model for similar initiatives in other remote border villages, combining tourism, culture, and development, and highlighting the Indian Army’s holistic approach to nation-building in strategic regions.
