Army launches rescue ops in flood-hit villages of Beed, Maha

September 16, 2025 | BK News Service

Following continuous heavy rains in Ashti Taluka of Beed District, Maharashtra, 5–6 villages including Kada, Ghatapimpri and adjoining areas have been completely inundated, with rising water levels cutting off access routes.

On request from the District Collector, Beed, the Indian Army has launched Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, including urgent air evacuation. An estimated 25–30 persons stranded in the affected villages require immediate rescue.
To facilitate evacuation, one Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and two Chetak helicopters from Nashik have been tasked, subject to weather conditions. In addition, a flood relief column from Ahmednagar is enroute and expected to reach the area by late evening. The Engineer Task Force from Bombay Engineer Group will also join the operation to provide specialised support.
The Indian Army remains committed to extending all possible assistance to civil administration and local population in this time of crisis.
