A cleanliness drive, as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organised by the Indian Army in conjunction with Municipal Corporation of Pulwama, in and around Pulwama Town, Gulzarpora Market, Tahab and Chandgam villages, Banderpora Village and its adjoining Government School and Deiri village with help of volunteer youths and local shopkeepers. All the volunteers pledged to dedicate half an hour daily to the cleanliness of their localities.
The exercise saw participation of over 100 volunteers, most of them local youths, who participated with zeal and enthusiasm towards the cleanliness of their respective localities. This initiative of the Indian Army brought together the people of Pulwama district in beautifying their localities.
