Army, police neutralise grenade in Assam

Tinsukia, Sep 20: Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a formation of the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, in coordination with Assam Police, safely neutralised a hand grenade in Tinsukia district of Assam.

Specialised teams were deployed to the location after receiving information about the explosive device. The grenade was destroyed in a controlled manner while following prescribed safety protocols to prevent any harm to civilians or damage to nearby property.
The operation was carried out with close coordination between the Army and Assam Police, ensuring that the potential threat was contained and the surrounding area remained secure.
The successful disposal of the grenade averted a possible danger to local residents and reaffirmed the security forces’ role in supporting the civil administration in maintaining public safety.
The Indian Army said such operations reflect its continued commitment to assisting local authorities and responding swiftly to security-related threats.
The coordinated action also highlights the importance of timely intelligence-sharing and joint responses by security agencies in addressing potential explosive threats.
Officials said the operation was completed safely, with no casualties reported.
