Army provides water storage in Manipur

October 18, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Leimakhong, Oct 17: As part of Operation Sadbhavana, a formation under the Spear Corps has provided a 10,000-litre water storage facility in Leimakhong to help address water shortages and ease the daily hardships faced by the local community.

The facility is expected to provide a dependable reserve of water, particularly during the dry season when reduced water flow often affects availability and disrupts daily routines.
The initiative aims to strengthen access to essential water supplies and provide relief to residents during periods of scarcity. The additional storage capacity will help the community maintain a more reliable reserve when regular water availability declines.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued efforts under Operation Sadbhavana to support local communities through welfare-oriented projects and address their basic needs.
By providing essential infrastructure, the Spear Corps seeks to improve everyday living conditions and reinforce its engagement with people in the region.
The water storage facility is expected to serve as a practical community asset, helping residents cope with seasonal shortages and highlighting the importance of sustainable access to essential resources.
