In a swift and effective response to the ongoing flood situation in Tripura, the Assam Rifles have launched extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations under the code name Op JAL RAHAT.
Two columns from the 18 Assam Rifles, operating under the command of HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles and IGAR (East), have been deployed across the flood-affected areas of Amarpur, Bhampur, Bishalgarh, and Ramnagar in Tripura.
Key Highlights of the Operations are as under :-
Two dedicated columns with a combined strength of over 80 personnel are actively engaged in the rescue and relief efforts.
The teams have successfully rescued 334 civilians stranded due to the rising floodwaters.
Essential rations & supplies have been distributed to 85 affected individuals, ensuring that immediate food needs are met during this crisis.
Medical aid has been provided to seven civilians, addressing urgent health concerns amidst challenging conditions.
