Kohima, Oct 11: The Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised a series of medical, dental and wellness camps across remote areas of Tripura, Nagaland and Manipur, extending essential healthcare and humanitarian assistance to border communities.
The initiatives aimed to improve access to medical services for people living in remote and underserved areas, reaffirming the security forces’ commitment to community welfare and the well-being of local populations.
In Tripura, a medical camp was organised at Kumarghat, benefiting local residents and students. The initiative provided healthcare assistance to people who often face challenges in accessing medical facilities due to geographical constraints.
In Nagaland, medical and dental camps were conducted in Kiphire and Meluri districts to extend essential healthcare services to local communities. The camps underscored the importance of preventive healthcare, early diagnosis and access to medical and dental consultations in remote areas.
In a separate humanitarian intervention, troops stationed at Longleng provided critical emergency assistance to an elderly person who had sustained burn injuries. The timely response highlighted the forces’ readiness to assist civilians during medical emergencies, particularly in areas where immediate access to healthcare can be challenging.
In Manipur, wellness and medical camps were organised at Bishnupur and Seijang, providing essential treatment and healthcare support to hundreds of people. The initiatives helped bring medical assistance closer to communities while reinforcing awareness about health and well-being.
The coordinated outreach across the three northeastern states reflects the Indian Army and Assam Rifles’ broader efforts to complement healthcare services in remote and border areas through medical assistance, emergency intervention and community engagement.
Beyond their security responsibilities, the forces continue to undertake humanitarian initiatives aimed at strengthening public trust and fostering closer ties with local communities.
Through these medical and dental camps, the Spear Corps reaffirmed its commitment to accessible healthcare, humanitarian service and community welfare, particularly for people residing in geographically isolated and underserved regions.
