Assam Rifles Aid 1K in Nagaland

October 14, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Kohima, Oct 13: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, has strengthened its humanitarian outreach in the Northeast by organising multi-speciality medical and dental camps across Nagaland and providing emergency medical assistance to an accident victim in Manipur.

In Nagaland, medical camps conducted across Shamator, Tuensang and Meluri districts benefited more than 1,000 local residents, providing specialist healthcare services to people from 30 villages.
The camps aimed to improve access to essential healthcare in remote and underserved areas, where geographical challenges can make it difficult for residents to reach specialised medical facilities.
The initiative brought together medical specialists, local health workers and pharmacy services to extend healthcare support to communities in need. The medical and dental consultations helped residents access professional care closer to their homes, reducing the difficulties associated with travelling long distances for treatment.
The outreach also highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between security forces and local healthcare workers in addressing medical needs in remote and border areas.
By extending medical services to villages across the three districts, Assam Rifles sought to support community well-being and promote greater awareness of healthcare needs among residents.
Meanwhile, in Manipur, Assam Rifles personnel stationed at Noney provided immediate medical assistance to an accident victim working on the National Highway-37 road project.
The troops responded to the emergency and extended critical medical aid to the injured person, underscoring the importance of timely intervention in accident situations, particularly in areas where access to emergency healthcare may be limited.
The incident reflected the humanitarian role played by security personnel beyond their primary operational responsibilities, particularly when civilians require urgent assistance.
The medical outreach in Nagaland and the emergency response in Manipur underline Assam Rifles' continuing engagement with local communities through healthcare support and humanitarian assistance.
Operating under Spear Corps, the force has been involved in community-oriented initiatives aimed at improving access to essential services and providing assistance to people in difficult circumstances.
The initiatives reaffirm the importance of sustained medical outreach, cooperation with local health workers and prompt emergency response in strengthening public welfare across the Northeast.
