
Aizawl, July 8: Assam Rifles strengthened its partnership with Mizoram's leading civil society organisation, the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), by donating computers and computer peripherals to support its community and educational initiatives.
The distribution programme was held on July 7 and was presided over by Brigadier Puspendar Sorayan, Deputy Inspector General, 23 Sector Assam Rifles.
During the event, Brigadier Sorayan expressed gratitude to CYMA for its steadfast support in anti-narcotics operations and its active cooperation in various developmental, educational and community welfare initiatives undertaken by Assam Rifles across Mizoram.
As a gesture of goodwill, Assam Rifles presented three desktop computers and one printer to the organisation to strengthen its administrative and outreach capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Malsawmliana, General Secretary of the Central Young Mizo Association, appreciated the continued efforts of Assam Rifles in promoting community development and education in the state. He also commended the force for its unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and supporting initiatives aimed at the welfare of society.
Officials said the initiative reflects Assam Rifles' continued focus on strengthening ties with local communities through meaningful developmental support while working closely with civil society organisations to promote education, social awareness and a drug-free society.
