Assam Rifles builds market shed in Manipur

Kaikao, Tamenglong, Dec 15: As part of its ongoing community development initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, Assam Rifles constructed and handed over a new market shed at Kaikao village in Tamenglong district, Manipur. The project aims to strengthen local infrastructure and provide villagers with a dedicated space for trade, thereby promoting sustainable livelihoods in the region.

The inauguration ceremony saw enthusiastic participation from the villagers, including local women entrepreneurs, youth, and community leaders. The event also featured a traditional cultural performance, highlighting the rich heritage and vibrant traditions of the area.
Speaking at the occasion, officials of Assam Rifles emphasized that the market shed is designed to facilitate economic activities for villagers, offering a safe and organized space for the sale of agricultural produce, handicrafts, and other local goods. Women vendors, in particular, will benefit from the improved facility, which is expected to enhance their income-generating opportunities and support community welfare.
Local residents expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles, noting that the initiative would not only support trade but also encourage social gatherings and strengthen community ties.
The project is part of the broader Operation Sadbhavana, through which the Assam Rifles undertakes development projects in remote and underserved areas to boost economic growth, promote social welfare, and foster trust between security forces and local communities.
