Assam Rifles, coast guard flag off joint bike rally

Shillong, Feb 2: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, flagged off a Joint Bike Rally from the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (HQ DGAR), Laitkor, Shillong, on February 2, 2026. The rally is being conducted in multiple phases to promote inter-service camaraderie, national integration, and a spirit of service.

Phase I of the rally, covering the route from Haldia to Shillong, was successfully completed, demonstrating coordination and teamwork between the participating units. Phase II was flagged off by Brigadier Sandip Chatterjee, SM, and will traverse from Shillong to Pangsau Pass in South Arunachal Pradesh, covering key strategic locations and frontier regions.
Officials highlighted that the rally underscores unity of purpose among armed forces and coastal security personnel, while also promoting awareness about national service and the importance of integration across diverse regions of India.
The joint initiative involved meticulous planning, coordination, and logistical support from both Assam Rifles and the Coast Guard, ensuring smooth execution and safety throughout the journey.
