Kohima, April 24: The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor with a series of educational and awareness activities across Nagaland, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces.

The commemorative events were organized at Chakesang Mission Higher Secondary School and Little Flower School, engaging students, teachers, and local communities in meaningful interactions that highlighted the spirit of patriotism and national service.
At Chakesang Mission Higher Secondary School in Pfutsero, the programme featured a documentary screening showcasing the significance and achievements of Operation Sindoor, followed by an informative lecture. The session provided students with insights into the dedication, discipline, and bravery displayed by the armed forces during the operation. An awareness rally was also conducted, where participants carried placards and slogans expressing respect and gratitude toward the armed forces, reinforcing a sense of national pride.
Meanwhile, at Little Flower School in Kohima, a poster and painting competition was organized to encourage young minds to creatively express their understanding of patriotism and the role of the armed forces. Students enthusiastically participated, producing artwork that reflected themes of courage, sacrifice, and national unity.
Officials from the Assam Rifles emphasized that such initiatives aim to foster awareness among the youth about the contributions of the armed forces while inspiring them to develop a sense of responsibility and respect for the nation. They noted that engaging students through interactive and creative platforms helps build a deeper emotional connection with national values.
